In the end I used the proceeds of the sale for a guitar I will use much more.
It will see occasional church use but it is just awesome the the small combo
jazz gigs I play.
It's a Godin Multiac Duet. With my little Henriksen Jazzamp it makes a very light
comfortable working rig.

But it was awesome!

I ended a worship set last night with The Lord Is Gracious and Compassionate by Graham Ord. Just me and a keyboard player.... who by the way, is our senior pastor, so worship NEVER gets cut off.

So at the end, he got down from the keys (he preaches from the floor) and was just sort of singing the last refrain again before moving on with the service, as is his custom. But we were on that last part of "Praise the Lord, Oh my soul, praise the Lord."

And the congregation would not stop singing it! I cranked back in with some guitar after a bit and we went another couple rounds. Then it sort of ended again.... but they still would not stop. In the most beautiful harmony, too.

I suddenly realized they didn't need me up there any longer, so I put down the guitar and went to stand next to my husband in the congregation.

I don't know how much longer it lasted but it finally broke down into quiet individual praises and adoration. Then sort of a collective, happy sigh and into a silence.

Man, that was something.

By the way, that was my first time back at leading worship after taking a month sabbatical to deal with some things. Wonderful, amazing, unbelievable things! But I was reeling from it all, and just needed to step back for a bit to explore the new territory.
